Becoming a Better Ally: Empowering Clinicians to Support LGBTQ+ Clients

Many clinicians want to support LGBTQ+ clients, but may not know how to show up for the queer community. In this workshop, we discuss allyship from a clinician’s perspective: understanding both the community as a whole and how to apply that knowledge to work with clients. This workshop is intended for both practitioners new in their allyship journey and those hoping to grow through further discussion.

Training Goals:

  • Promote awareness of our own biases around marginalized identities through education and self-reflection.
  • Foster inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community by understanding specific vocabulary, topics around gender & sexuality, common myths, and needs around coming out.
  • Develop allyship strategies and access resources for creating respectful and accepting environments.

For those unable to attend live training, you will receive an email when the recording is available.
