Since I was a young child, I knew I wanted to help people! Originally, I wanted to be a pediatrician. However, I quickly realized the hospital setting was not for me and I found my home at the intersection of therapy and education. Since this realization I have dove head first into these two incredibly important professions and the environments that help produce and facilitate change.
I have a passion for working with adolescents and young adults. My specialities include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, executive functioning, and relationship concerns.
I truly believe that therapy is an integral tool for maintaining good mental health. Therapy helps us develop a strong sense of self, encourages us to gain new perspectives, helps steady our mood and improves our relationships. Therapy also helps process trauma, reduces anxiety, manage stress and unlearn bad habits!
I value relationships and culture! I work with my clients to build rapport, trust and feel a sense of relief and support. I believe that the relationship between myself and my clients is paramount. Through empathy, active listening and unconditional positive regard, I use an integrative, strengths-based and solution focused approach. I operate through a trauma informed lens and utilize evidenced- based Interventions including (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavior Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. Above all else I want my clients to feel emboldened, empowered, supported and truly themselves!
Through therapy, I hope clients walk away with a sense of their inherent worth. I hope they gain a stronger understanding of themselves and their needs as well as insight into how others impact them and how they impact others. My goal is for my clients to learn skills to advocate for themselves as well as how to engage in healthy and supporting interpersonal relationships.
