About

Allison Milewsky

"My goal is to empower my clients to recognize their self-worth and the power of their unique experiences."

Why I became a therapist

I have wanted to be a therapist and had this career in my heart for as long as I can remember! I believe that the systems around us (familial, social, global) have a great impact on us and that often we take those pressures and internalize them. I feel pulled to be of service to others to build and sit in a space with them where they can process all of the complicated feelings that come with being a human in this tricky world. My goal is to empower my clients to recognize their self-worth and the power of their unique experiences.

Who I work with

I work with adolescents, adults and couples struggling with communication and self-esteem. Society makes it very hard to feel confident and assured of ourselves, but everyone has strengths that add beauty to this world. I want to help anyone dealing with issues surrounding self-worth, sex and intimacy with self or others, life transitions, abortion stigma, depression and anxiety, and the perinatal/postpartum period to understand that they are not alone. Even though the title of my degree is a ‘Marriage’ and Family Therapist, I consider myself a relational therapist and l am eager to work with any and all relationships! This includes but is not limited to couples, spouses, friendships, adult siblings, open relationships, and polyamorous relationships. I hope to make my space one that feels inclusive and safe to all identities and cultures. I would also like to take the time to say that ‘family’ is an open term as well that includes anyone related to you and anyone you have brought into your life. Chosen family is family!

"I work through collaboration that focuses on my clients’ perspective and needs. You are the author of your story, and I am here to support, not to re-write."

Working With Me

I work through collaboration that focuses on my clients’ perspective and needs. You are the author of your story, and I am here to support, not to re-write. I genuinely believe that the small things in life like beautiful flowers, acts of kindness, and giggles are the important parts. I want to work alongside clients as we navigate the complex parts of life while starting to notice the small things that matter to them. Therapy is everyday healthcare and together we can get through the storm while also learning to dance in the rain. My goal is to empower clients to see the strength in vulnerability and the value of their individuality.
