About

Emily Moore

"I believe that each of us are experts in our own lives: I am simply here to be the co-pilot on your journey."

Why I became a therapist

Everyone feels lost at times and unsure what to do. I believe that reaching out for support creates an opportunity for a new path to be discovered. I love people's stories and I see my role in the therapeutic relationship as a tremendous privilege. I strive to help you understand the behaviors and thought patterns that bring you to therapy and guide you in bringing harmony within your environment and empowerment within yourself.

Who I work with

I work with adolescents and adults in their journey to build an understanding and awareness of their symptoms and help figure out how to manage and heal from their experiences. I have experience working with people dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, identity issues, and other life challenges. I aim to be a powerful advocate for people in marginalized communities. I believe in celebrating each person’s full intersectional identity and providing culturally responsive and social-justice oriented therapy.

"As a therapist, I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and accepting space for you to feel valued and supported."

Working With Me

Everyone has the capacity to make positive change! I meet each client with kindness and curiosity, offering unconditional support, and the occasional challenge. As a therapist, I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and accepting space for you to feel valued and supported. I often use humor, music, and conversations about shared personal interests to develop the therapeutic relationship. I believe that each of us are experts in our own lives: I am simply here to be the co-pilot on your journey. I thrive in continuing to learn new techniques which enables me to bring eclectic approaches to a person’s unique experience - CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, Narrative, Person-Centered, and Mindfulness techniques are a few of the treatments I utilize.
