Why I became a therapist

Hello, my name is Jordan and I became a therapist to support individuals through life’s changes and challenges as we journey through childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. I strive to increase access to mental health for all individuals and believe representation of all identities is important in this field. Helping people sort through the everyday problems that occur in their lives is my motivation for being a therapist. I find it a privilege to be a part of someone's journey as they navigate through some of the more difficult times in their lives. Seeing the growth in individuals as they find meaning and purpose is quite the rewarding experience. My career path from working in athletics, the school system, politics and the non profit sector all center around helping people become the champions of their own lives. As a therapist, I carry that theme into my work.

Who I work with

My primary work is with individual clients experiencing life adjustments, anxiety, and depression. My area of expertise is working with adolescents and young adults facing these challenges, especially people of color. I am a firm believer in a culturally responsive and competent approach within my practice. I Identify as a Black Man. I am self aware of the identities that I hold within the spaces I operate. Being a former college athlete myself, I enjoy seeing young adults and teenagers - helping them sort out the stressors that come with that lifestyle and life-stage.

Working With Me

I strive to create a safe and inviting space in session where we can process the feelings that come with life's changes and stressors all while working together to collaborate on realistic solutions. Together, we will work to create a sense of connectedness, resiliency, hope and make meaningful change. I hope my clients get a feeling of validation for their authentic experiences. The benefits of therapy are incredible. It’s very well known that taking care of our physical body is vital for our overall health and wellness and the same should be said about mental health. Therapy can often help you discover obstacles in your path that make it difficult for you to operate at your best. Working with me, no two sessions will be the same. I understand that as times change, so do our needs and my flexibility will reflect that.
