Stephanie Hernandez

"As a therapist, I wholeheartedly believe that human connection is built on mutual trust, and respect."

Why I became a therapist

Hi, I’m Stephanie! I am a bilingual, bicultural therapist and second-generation Mexican-American. Growing up, I observed the stigmatized view of mental health issues and therapy. These moments inspired me to pursue a career in mental health, to create a safe space for voices to be heard, to break barriers and promote moments of vulnerability, and healing. I not only empathize with my clients but I am also committed to compassion therapy and mental health practices through healing and education.

Who I work with

I work with people of all identities and backgrounds; and have experience working with a wide age range from teens to adults of all ages. My clinical experience has included supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, life transition, relationship issues, and family conflict. ‍ I believe there is strength in vulnerability and self-compassion, and I look forward to supporting you on your path to healing.

Working With Me

My goal is to work hand-in-hand with you to create an empathic space where you can share your feelings and work through learned patterns to discover what serves you best today. Together, we can start the healing process, using self-awareness, exploring the past, gaining empowerment, and creating meaningful changes within your life and relationships. ‍ I strive to create a safe space, where clients can be their authentic self, be heard, and validated when it comes to discussing their unique experiences, while promoting their growth and personal journey. ‍ In counseling I apply an integrative approach, incorporating psychodynamic methodology (CBT and DBT) with interventions such as; compassion-focused, narrative therapy, internal family systems, and Mindfulness techniques.
