“I want to make a space where you can be seen as who you are, not stereotypes or generalizations people make about groups you are in”

Why I became a therapist

Oftentimes, one’s life experiences are radically affected by how they present in terms of race, gender, sexuality, size and social class, while our more invisible traits such as neurodivergence, culture, values, background and trauma can be easily overlooked. I chose to pursue a career as a therapist because I want to make a space where you can be seen as who you are- not stereotypes or generalizations people make about identities you hold. My client’s values, goals, and dreams are central to my work as a therapist. I work collaboratively with my clients to overcome systemic and personal troubles in an effort to live a full and authentic life. It is an honor to work with you and to hear your story.

Who I work with

I am particularly interested in working with LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent adults. As a biracial neurodivergent Vietnamese-American, nonbinary person, I hope that my presence and understanding of multicultural nuances can help create a safe environment for people in these systematically oppressed groups. I feel comfortable working with people experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, people exploring their gender identity, people who want to build their self-esteem and self-efficacy. I can best support clients who are at a place where they want to better understand themselves and build a life filled with the supports and accommodations that they need.

“My goal is to help you see who you are, rather than who you “should” be, and learn to care for yourself accordingly.”

Working With Me

In my experience, therapy is a space where you can learn to recenter your focus and learn tools to calm your mind and body. When a therapist really listens, you feel seen in a deep and meaningful way. My goal is to help you see who you are, rather than who you “should” be, and learn to care for yourself accordingly. Therapy isn’t perfect, but I am committed to providing a safe, trusting environment where each of my clients feel affirmed and empowered. I value being direct and transparent with my thought process, and make an effort to make room for uncomfortable topics. I believe each person is the expert on their own life and I am here to aid my clients in understanding themselves on a deeper level so that they can become the most authentic version of themselves.
